Our Mission

Abdul Aziz, is around 65 years old. He lives in the Pirerbagh Slum of Agargoan, in Dhaka. He has four sons and four daughters. He is a rickshaw puller and earns a meagre 70- 90 taka per day.  His sons do not contribute towards the household income. Abdul Aziz’s wife, who is also elderly, works as a part time maidservant in order to support her husband. Due to their age they are not able to find jobs that would enable them to support themselves sufficiently financially.

There are even days when the family goes to bed without food as Abdul Aziz has been too sick to go to work. Rickshaw pulling is very hard laborious work. During Ramadan, he could not pull his rickshaw the whole day due to his fasting.

After receiving Help the Needy’s Food Packets throughout the month of Ramadan he was very happy and extremely grateful to them and their sponsors. He said  “I could not have provided  food for my family this month without pulling the rickshaw which was proving to be very difficult; but thanks to the support of Help the Needy I will not need to pull the rickshaw this Ramadan“.
