Our Mission

Bahar, a 7 years old boy, lives in Modhubazar Slum, Dhaka. His father is a shopkeeper and his mother runs a tea stall in the park adjacent to Dhanmondi Lake. The monthly income of his parents is less than Tk. 5000. Bahar has two siblings. Bahar and his siblings spend their entire day in Dhanmondi Park with their mother. Gifted with an exceptionally sharp memory, Bahar came to be quickly noticed by our authorities during their regular tour of the park for potential students. However, we found it extremely difficult to persuade Bahar to attend classes as he would rather spend his time playing with his friends in the park.

After receiving basic education offered by Help The Needy, Bahar can now read and write his name and address. He can identify English and Bengali alphabets. He knows that he should love his country and respect his elders. He has a sense of what is right and wrong. He is also acquainted with the fundamentals of Islam.

Bahar hopes to join the Bangladesh Police Force when he grows up.
